Opening hours

From April 1 to June 30
9:30 am - 6 pm

From July 1 to August 31
9:30 am - 7 pm

October 1 to March 31
10 am - 5:15 pm

September 1 to 30
9:30 am - 6 pm

Last access to the monument, one hour before closing time.

Free access to the park during the last hour.
Closed on January 1, May 1 and December 25.

The monument will be exceptionally closed from 12 am to 2 pm on Tuesday 14 May 2024.

How to get there

By car

A10 from Paris, then A85 direction Angers, exit number 9 then D751
A10 from Poitiers, exit number 25 then D760 and D57

The castle of Azay-le-Rideau is located in the heart of the village of Azay-le-Rideau.
Numerous parking lots are available.

By bike

Azay-le-Rideau is located on the Indre à Vélo and Loire à Vélo bicycle routes.
The monument has been awarded the Accueil Vélo label and offers all the services needed to access it comfortably by bicycle.
Please note: the bicycle park is only open during the castle's opening hours.

By train

Azay-le-Rideau is served by the SNCF Tours-Chinon line.
The station is accessible on foot (2.1 km).

Services and conditions of visit

  • Dogs are allowed on a leash in the park and in a carrier bag in the castle.
  • Strollers allowed in the park, not allowed in the castle.
  • Photos allowed in the castle without flash.
  • Restaurant/tea house "Le Lavoir" open from Easter to the end of September.
